Monday 5/10/21 Links and Info

Image
Hello! Happy Monday and welcome to a new week of Crossroads Cannablog. I've got a few very good links to some great content! I'm going to try some new formatting to aid in presenting things, let me know what you think!   TVape has their review/ranking of the Top 5 Best Oil Pens And 510 Batteries of 2021. These look really nice and have some great features, but we'll keep our eyes peeled for any new ones, as well, 2021 has barely begun.   The ever cheerful and always informative Cannabis Coach Haley has a review of Genius Pills from 1906 . These sound like a nice addition for daytime use!   Chris, from CannaBev , has a nice review of the Lava Cake strain from Aeriz, (an Illinois aeroponics grower). I have liked Aeriz's products when I have tried them. They do a good job when it comes to growing quality cannabis!     Welcome to the information section! Here I am posting content that...informs. How to's and news from the cannabis world! First up is another insta

Review: Verano Reserve Premium Cartridge - Wedding Cake (500mg)

Image
Happy Hump Day and welcome to a new review! Today's review is of yet another of Verano's products from it's Reserve line. This is my first go 'round with a Verano cartridge and I must say that I was not disappointed! These Reserve products are a bit more expensive and, frankly, in most cases it's worth it but Verano is taking a real chance with these, especially given that Illinois prices are already higher than most places. Still, if you are looking for a nice quality cannabis product, Verano is not letting their customers down. As you can see this cartridges oil packs an impressive punch, coming in at a whopping 86.7% THC potency! Not a vape cartridge for beginners. I do wish they would include the terpene profile for this extract. It would definitely help out folks looking for specific effects.  One very minor drawback, in my opinion, is that the cartridge does not have a mouthpiece or bottom stopper, as many other brands do. I don't think there would be en

Hi and welcome back! I have a few things for you to look at. A new review from Alex22 and Weed Entertainment. A look at Delta-8 THC and its legality and an inspiring piece about PTSD and Cannabis, from Green Flower.  First up is Alex and his review of the Moxie reserve lines Sunset Sherbert resin cartridge. He's a fan! Weed Entertainment has their 2020 winners in the LA's Best Heavyweight Couchlock Strains. If you're an Indica fan, (and who isn't?) this is right up your alley! Weed In A Pot takes a look at Delta-8 THC and its legality.  And last, but certainly not least, is a wonderful video from Green Flower about PTSD and combating it with cannabis. Really, folks. This should be a no brainer for everyone. A medicine like ours, that genuinely works with no debilitating side effects, should be the medicine of first choice, not illegal. Well, that's it for today. I expect to be back very soon with more reviews, by myself and others, and more great cannabis conten

Review: Verano Swift Lifts - G Purps

Image
Hi and welcome to this Saturday review. Today I'm reviewing G Purps Swift Lifts mini pre-rolls from Verano . This is not my first time with these and I will freely admit that G Purps is a favourite of mine, especially these little pre-rolls. They are powerful and just the right size for anyone, medical or recreational users. Verano recently changed their packaging from plain black and white to this newer and more colourful design. It does look nice but the best thing is that the quality has not only remained the same, it has gone up! So, let's get to it, shall we? As you can see the contents pack a potent punch and come in at a THC content of 25.3%! G Purps, also known as Grandaddy Purple, GDP, etc, is a very potent and pleasing Indica cross of Mendo Purps, Skunk and Afghanistan.  These 5 pre-rolls are nicely rolled. They have a great firmness to them and the paper filter doesn't interfere with your draw or let anything through, other than smoke. They do NOT come with a Bov

Welcome to the Friday edition of Crossroads Cannablog! I hope everyone had a great week and that you have an even better weekend! We've got some gems today! Some strain and product reviews that span from coast to coast, some science geek cannabis knowledge, a look at last years High Times Cannabis Cup Illinois winners, and a bit of political talk-talk that concerns us and our plants of choice. So, let's get to it!   Weed Entertainment has a new piece up on LA's Top 30 Best Cannabis strains. As always, very informative. If you're in the LA area give us a shout and let us know if you agree!   Next up is the ever informative Cannabis Critique! He is reviewing the Cookies and Cream strain from Revolution , in Illinois. He is not the only person to give Revolution good marks, as you'll see in the High Times video! Revolution is really starting to spread out in Illinois and their popularity is warranted.    Here's a short taste test from Alex, over in Pennsylvania

Hello, and welcome to a new week! We have a few things to look at today. We have some great video reviews, a podcast on a cannabis documentary called "Weediatrics",  (about parents using cannabis to treat their children even when the powers that be forbid it), a great piece from Katherine Mangu-Ward on how to talk to your young kids about cannabis, another great review from Cannacentric Films on Aeriz's Cake Breath flower, a great little video from Green Flower and Samantha Miller on understanding cannabinoids, and a Talk and Toke review from the inimitable Cannabev. So let's get to it, shall we? First up is a short article from Katherine Mangu-Ward, at Reason Magazine, on how to talk to your kids about cannabis. As someone who has young adult "kids" I never had to deal with this issue when I re-entered the cannabis culture. I did have to spend some time undoing all the lies that their government schools allowed the cops in D.A.R.E. to try and  brainwas

4/21 Links and Reviews

Happy day after 420! I have a couple of things today, and this is the first. Here are some links to some of my favorite people doing their 420 and day after reviews, news and commentary. First up is an excellent review of the Aeriz Jenny Kush flower. I'm not sure where all Aeriz is sold, but this one is from Illinois and the review is from the excellent Cannacentric Films . You can find them on YouTube and I highly recommend them if you have any interest in Illinois or Aeriz products. Just look at these beautiful buds! Cannabis Coach Haley takes the time to introduce us to a new (to me, anyway) product. It's a CBD Sparkling Water from the folks at Mad Tasty . Now, I am a regular Ted Lasso when it comes to sparkling water, but I am a fan of CBD and Coach Haley! And I will definitely be keeping her advice in mind about using CBD to calm yourself when you've managed to get a bit too high.  If you are "new" to the modern cannabis scene, and looking for some umbrell

My Journey Back To Cannabis

Image
Like many people of my generation I was a recreational cannabis consumer "back in the day". And, as is not unusual, my recreational use tapered off to not using over the years. Then life happened. Over the course of the last year or so, I started to develop a good deal of painful maladies. Arthritis, knee issues (likely arthritis, as well, but still not diagnosed fully), neck and shoulder pains, nausea and other debilitating and painful issues. Sleeping also became an issue as nighttime pain interrupted things all night long.  My doctors took the usual route with prescription NSAID's and we found out quickly that OTC meds did nothing, and prescription NSAID's just made me ill and also offered no relief. Opioids were just not even on my radar, and I let my doctors know it. That was a road I just was not going to go down.  Like many folks out there, I had watched an aging parent with diabetic myopathy and other pain, suffer through that pain and getting enough medicat

Welcome to Crossroads Cannablog!

Welcome to Crossroads Cannablog. Here I will be featuring news, reviews, videos, commentary and more, that concerns cannabis. Some of my journey will be here, as well as that of others whom I know in the Cannabis Community, in the Midwest and beyond. As I live in a place where cannabis is still forbidden and I need to use cannabis for medical reasons, much of what I publish from a personal perspective will be kind of anonymous on my part. But I will endeavor to not bore you! One of the most frustrating aspects of delving back into cannabis after decades away, is finding relevant information on strain, methods and products, to use for my particular needs. I am sure I am not alone in this, either. And the major search engines don't make things easy. So, I'm going to try to be a "Best Of" clearinghouse. If you have any questions about anything cannabis related, ask away! I'll try to answer it, or find an answer for you, if I can. And I'll bring in an expert o
